It has taken me years of listening to begin to properly appreciate this album. It is the hardest listen out of any quality extreme metal I have heard, but I am confident now that this is the best extreme metal album I have ever heard. The vision and scope is unlike any other.

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel.
